Chloe Smithson

May 30th, 2018

It is with regret and sadness that we announce the death of Chloe Smithson. Chloe passed away on Saturday 19th May 2018 after a brave fight against cancer. Our Thoughts are with Mick, Karalyn, Jake and Evan (and the rest of the family) at this time. Chloe joined 759 Beccles Sqn when she was 13 and reaching the Rank of CWO during this time she achieved a lot that the ACO had to offer including many camps and sports regularly representing N & S Wing at Swimming (One year she managed to win the Senior Girls Swimming Trophy by herself). Chloe was also the Lord Lt Cadet for Suffolk and won most of the Sqn Trophy's at some point in her career. After reaching her 20th Birthday she continued with the Sqn as a CI until the start of 2017 when she was diagnosed with a Brain Tumor. Even during this time she continued to pop into the Sqn to see how we are doing.  ...Read more

Cadets can now return to their units and pass on their newly acquired skills. Drill and ceremonial duties are central to a uniformed organisation like the ATC. Indeed, many of our cadets will be on parade at arguably the most prestigious of all venues later this year when an event is being held to celebrate the centenary of the Royal Air Force - no less a place than Buckingham Palace. Rest assured, all our cadets who attend will do the RAF proud. ...Read more
