Two friends who were previously cadets from Norfolk & Suffolk Wing met up for chat on Saturday. Nothing unusual in that you may say, friendships made in the Corps last a lifetime! However what was unusual, was the location – south dispersal RAF Gibraltar!
Following a quick exchange of comments via Facebook within 24hrs these two friends were reunited as ex Cadets but also now as Commanding Officers of their respective Squadrons.
Wing Commander Andy McIntyre, OC 24 Sqn, RAF Brize Norton was on a training flight to RAF Gibraltar on Saturday and through the powers of Facebook, Flight Lieutenant Ivan Caward OC of No.2 Overseas (Gibraltar) Sqn, Air Training Corps managed to meet him.
After a chat and a tour round the A400M, the friends said
their goodbyes, then unfortunately it was time for them both to get back to work!
