A small group of staff and Cadets from 2(Overseas) Sqn based in Gibraltar have had an exclusive look behind the scenes of the Royal Navys latest warship the Mighty HMS Prince of Wales aircraft carrier.
Eight personnel were invited on board for a guided tour and briefing from the ships company as they visited the Naval facilities in Gibraltar to test out the docking and resupply capabilities of the port.
Flt Lt Ivan Caward Commanding Officer said “We have been honoured to pay a visit to this awesome vessel. The Royal Navy have gone out of their way to make the visit very informative and welcoming”.
The Sqn have recently taken part in several high profile event’s on ‘The Rock, including Armed Forces Day and Flt Lt Caward added that this was a great way to thank the staff and senior cadets who had gone above and beyond to keep the Squadron running during the recent pandemic .
