Congratulations to all members of the Wing’s Road Marching team who successfully completed the RAFWARMA Two Day March 2023!
Friday 14 April to Sunday 16 April saw Norfolk and Suffolk Wing join roughly 600 road marchers from across the country at RAF Cosford for the 39th RAF Walking and Road Marching Association’s Two Day March.
The two teams from across both counties walked a total of 50 miles on both Saturday and Sunday around the station’s local area. The event consisted of long days and long routes but each marcher within both teams took it all in their stride and completed each day’s march in excellent time and form. Excellent team spirit, teamwork and endeavour was shown by cadets and staff throughout the two days.
In addition to the medals and silver road marching badges earned by the marchers, both teams were recognised by the event organisers for their conduct and efforts during the event. The teams were delighted to be jointly awarded the Best RAFAC Team Award, presented by Regional Commandant Wales and West Region RAFAC, Group Captain Simon.
As well as a stand-alone event, the RAFWARMA Two Day March also serves as a qualifying event for military marchers wishing to take part in the Nijmegen International Four Days Marches –
congratulations to the 9 cadets and 2 staff who successfully qualified for a space within the Wing team!
