Norfolk & Suffolk Wing were privileged to secure 2 weeks at the National Air Cadet Adventure Training Centre in Fairbourne, North Wales over the February half term providing an opportunity for cadets to experience a range of adventurous activities.
Hill walking around the local area, mountain biking at Coed-y-Brenin and cave tours of the Corris Mines were just some of the activities on offer to the 80 cadets and 15 staff who were supporting the camp.
Sqn Ldr Peter Howlett – Wing Adventure Training Officer added “It’s been fantastic to get back to Wales and to take advantage of the fantastic facilities we have available to us. The cadets have really enjoyed their time, but it would not have been possible without the dedication of the adult volunteers that supported us.”
Adventure Training in the Air Cadets aims to give cadets and staff the opportunity to try new things, as well as build confidence and resilience, and develop team building.
