At the beginning of March, four well deserving members of Norfolk & Suffolk Wing were presented with certificates from the counties Lord Lieutenants, to acknowledge their dedication and commitment to the Royal Air Force Air Cadets.
At a prestigious reception in Ipswich Suffolk, Warrant Officer Mark Ellis of 188 (Ipswich) Squadron received the Lord Lieutenant Award for Meritorious Service from the Lord-Lieutenant of Suffolk the Countess of Euston. WO Ellis was nominated for his level-headed approach, hard work and dedication he has given to both the cadets of Ipswich Squadron as well as the wider Wing.
Cadet Warrant Officer Barnaby Long from 432 (Woodbridge) Squadron was also appointed the Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet of Suffolk. A cadet since 2014, CWO Long is highlighted as a natural leader and someone who willing gives his time to others for their benefit and development.
In Norwich, Warrant Officer Dave Towell, Commanding Officer of 1109 (Thetford) Squadron was the recipient of the Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk Award for Meritorious from Lady Dannatt MBE, Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk. His engagement and enthusiasm for a variety of activities, including Aircraft Recognition and Shooting, as well as regular attendance on various camps made him a worthy candidate for the commendation.
Finally Cadet Flight Sergeant Holly Bradley of 1986 (Wymondham) Squadron has been nominated as the Lord Lieutenant Cadet of Norfolk, due to her impressive list of achievements since joining the Corps. Among other things she has her Gold First Aid Award, and is a First Aid instructor.
She has also achieved her Bronze & Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award as well as a BTEC in Aviation studies.
Wing Commander David Miller Officer Commanding Norfolk & Suffolk Wing added. I am incredibly proud of the Staff and Cadets that have been awarded this week. They are great role models within the Wing and are fully deserving of this recognition.
