Why I joined the RAFAC:
I joined the RAFAC in 2017 because I felt like I wanted to expand my horizons, whether this be through flying, or adventure training, I wanted new opportunities. So far, the Air Cadets has given me a great opportunity to look further, and through this, I have managed to travel the country and travel abroad on the 2018 Battlefields Camp.
The best thing I’ve done in cadets:
The best thing that I have done through the cadets is represent Central & East Region in athletics for 2018 and 2019. This gave me a great chance to meet new people around the Corps, and I’m still friends with some of them now! My main passion is athletics, and I truly think that going and representing for a national air cadet title is something that I’d never let down again.
Advice for people wanting to join:
My advice would be go for it, you never know if you don’t try. I joined wanting new experiences, and I believe that anyone who joins should have equal opportunity to do stuff that they love within the cadets, this can be swimming, adventure training, flying, gliding and even drill! So if you’re a new cadet, and you want to join – go for it, you never know what to expect until you try it out for yourself!
