I joined the Air Cadets in 2004 after overhearing a friend enthusing about it at work to anyone who would listen. What he had been doing that weekend and what the cadets had coming up peaked my interest and following a visit to the squadron awards evening I joined the team
Since then I have seen many cadets join the Squadron, grow and mature to become better prepared for what the future may hold. I find it very rewarding to see them overcome their fears, try new activities and make new friends by taking part in all the activities the cadet organisation has to offer.

I’ve had a great time being a Civilian Instructor for the past 15 years, and now I’m in the process of becoming a uniformed member of staff so that I can help develop and deliver training , continue to be a role model and continue to mentor the young people who join the largest youth organisation in the UK, the Royal Air Force Air Cadets.
